How to Make Sourdough Bread at Home — No Starter Needed (The Lazy Way)

How to Make Sourdough Bread at Home — No Starter Needed (The Lazy Way)

Millys Best

Ever dreamed of baking your own crusty sourdough bread at home — but the idea of feeding a starter, mastering complex timing, or making a mess at midnight made you quit before you started?

You’re not alone.

Good news: It´s way easier than you think 😊

Welcome:

The no-drama sourdough.

No starter.   No stress.   No excuses.  Just tasty bread.

Millys beginner-friendly baking mix is the easiest way to enjoy homemade sourdough with minimal effort — and maximum deliciousness. Let’s break it down.

Why Skip the Starter?

Traditional sourdough requires a wild yeast starter — a living culture you feed and maintain like a sour little pet. It’s a hobby… but also a lot of work.

·       Time-consuming (you have to feed it daily!)

·       Complex

·       Unpredictable

·       Messy

👉 With Millys no-starter method, you get:

·       No messy jars on your counter

·       No daily feedings

·       No need to plan days in advance

·       No fear of your starter "dying"

Instead, we use a dried long, slow fermented sourdough with a pinch of yeast — having the same flavor, structure, and gut benefits of sourdough without the babysitting.

Sourdough’s Growing Popularity in the U.S.

Sourdough bread became the pandemic’s poster child for bread standard and creativity. And that interest hasn’t slowed down:

·       The U.S. sourdough market is projected to reach $828 million by 2030, up from $412 million in 2020 (Grand View Research)

·       Search volume for “how to make sourdough” still averages over 80,000+ monthly Google searches in the U.S.

·       More than 67% of U.S. consumers say they’re seeking better bread options that are healthier, more natural, and easier on digestion (IFIC 2023)

And most don’t want the fuss. They want taste, texture, and health benefits — without the stress.

Millys 4-Step Lazy Sourdough Method

(So Easy, It’s Ridiculous)

You only need:

·       Millys Sourdough Mix

·       1.5 cups cool water

Here’s the process:

1.     Mix in a big bowl. Knead by hand or machine (e.g. kitchen aid) for 6-10 min

2.     Cover and rest the dough for 2-18h. (yes, that flexible!)

3.     Shape the dough round and preheat oven

4.     Bake at 450°F (230°C) for 20 mins + 25–35 mins at 410°F (210°C).

-- Boom. You’ve got bakery-quality bread with zero hassle --

Baking same day?!?

Yes, you read right!       Resting time is 2 - 18h.

You can bake the bread same day OR you can have it resting & fermenting in your fridge for a half or full day.

How cool is that?

Millys is designed to fit in YOUR day, whatever your schedule is.

Long work day?

Prepare Millys in the morning, bake in the evening. Too tired when coming home? No worries, let it sit in fridge and bake next day to have fresh bread for breakfast.

Friends coming over for BBQ?

Get you dough prepared and bake 2h after, you´ll enjoy a fresh soft & crispy bread.

Why This Works (Yes, There’s Science)

The lazy method works thanks to using the right ingredients & method:

·       Sourdough from Germany for a more sour, aromatic taste (slowly fermented)

·       Sourdough from Italy for a more mild, balanced taste (slowly fermented)

·       Yeast with a longer activity

·       Premium European Flour for best bread baking results, soft inside & crispy outside

·       Cool water activating the yeast slowly

·       Right kneading time for a strong gluten structure development

·       Room temp fermentation: Fast activation, dough rises quickly

·       Fridge temp fermentation: Slow activation, dough rises within hours and the strong gluten structure can balance out under- /or overproving.

“It’s perfect for beginners and even those with gluten sensitivity — I felt great after eating,” says Emily

Millys Makes It Foolproof

Just add water. Let rest. Bake. Eat. -  That’s it.
