Is this everything I need?
Almost. Add filtered water and an oven and you are set. A Dutch oven makes the best results, but two baking trays and an oven safe bowl for steam work for beginners as well.
Do I need a sourdough starter?
No. Sourdough starters take weeks to build and most of them die on the way. Milly's comes with a dried starter that was developed over 2 years in Germany and wakes up the moment you add water. No feeding, no waiting, no hoping it survived.
How much time does this take?
Ten minutes of kneading, then the dough waits for you. Rest it 3h hours on the counter if you want bread tonight, or up to 20 hours in the fridge for deeper flavor and easier digestion. You pick the timing, the dough adapts.
What are the tools for?
The scraper handles sticky dough and keeps your hands clean, the silicone mat replaces the parchment paper and helps to take the dough securely in and out of the Dutch oven, the measuring cup gets the water right, the lame gives you a clean cut and better oven spring, the bread knife slices a loaf without crushing the crumb, and the linen bag keeps that crust tasty for days.
What's in the eBook?
Recipes for the dough and for what goes on top of it. The same ciabatta dough becomes pizza, focaccia and dinner rolls with small changes in shaping and bake time, so four mixes stretch a lot further than four loaves. Plus toppings and spreads for when you just want a warm slice.
What's it made of?
Five clean European ingredients. Unbleached wheat & spelt flour, durum wheat semolina, salt, dried wheat sourdough, and a tiny bit of yeast to support the culture. Stone-milled by family mills that have been grinding grain since the 17th century. Non-GMO, No glyphosate, No added sugar, No artificial flavors or colors, vegan.
